Managing Measurements
Edit, rename, color, hide, lock, and delete your measurements.
Renaming Measurements
Give meaningful names to your measurements so you can identify them later:
- Find the measurement in the Measurements Panel
- Double-click on the name (or click the edit icon)
- Type a new name
- Press Enter to save
Good naming examples: "Main Lot", "North Drive Lane", "Employee Parking", "ADA Striping", "Phase 1 Area"
Changing Colors
Use different colors to distinguish measurement types on the map:
- Click the color indicator (colored square) next to the measurement
- Choose from 8 preset colors
- The map updates immediately
Tip: Use consistent colors for similar areas - e.g., blue for parking, green for sidewalks, amber for drive lanes.
Showing & Hiding
Toggle visibility to declutter your map without deleting measurements:
- Visible: Measurement shows on map
- Hidden: Measurement is invisible but still exists
Note: Hidden measurements still count toward totals. They just don't display on the map.
Locking Measurements
Lock measurements to prevent accidental edits:
- Unlocked: Can be edited, moved, or deleted
- Locked: Cannot be modified until unlocked
Best practice: Lock completed measurements before working on new ones to prevent accidentally moving them.
Deleting Measurements
Delete Single Measurement
- Select the measurement on the map or in the panel
- Press Delete or click the trash icon
- Confirm in the dialog
Delete Multiple Measurements
- Select multiple measurements (Ctrl+click or Shift+click in the panel)
- Press Delete
- Confirm deletion of all selected items
Clear All Measurements
Click the eraser (Clear All) button in the toolbar to remove everything.
Warning: Deletion cannot be undone after the dialog is confirmed. Make sure you want to remove measurements before confirming.
Selecting Multiple Measurements
You can select multiple measurements to perform actions on all of them at once:
Editing Vertices
Adjust the shape of area and line measurements by editing their vertices (corner points):
- Move a vertex: Click and drag any corner point
- Add a vertex: Click on an edge midpoint (small square)
- Remove a vertex: Right-click on a vertex
The area/length recalculates automatically as you edit.
